Hello, my name is Kobe Morrison and I have NEVER written a blog before. I'm pretty good at telling stories verbally and on paper, I guess; but this is really different. I'm up for the challenge though.

Anyways, I chose this first year seminar class because I absolutely love Disney. I'm a huge Disney fanatic and have been ever since I was little. My goal as an actor is to actually work for Disney and be on a Disney Channel show or Walt Disney movie. Disney inspires me in all forms of art that I do, but i'm not crazy though, I promise. It's just something that's always stuck to me.

What i'm hoping to get from this class is a new understanding of fairy tale origins because I knew that they came from the Grim brothers, and I haven't heard much about each one. I just know that they are really gruesome and definitely doesn't have the happily ever after Disney polish at the end. I want to know what happens in the stories.

I never thought about what my favorite fairy tale would be, but one that I connect to the most might be Hansel and Grettle. Mostly because I had the live action movie with Howie Mandel on DVD when I was younger, and I loved it so much. Also, who doesn't like candy?

The tale of two beards

The Bluebeard original tale and the movie are very different from each other. At first, it was a bit hard to follow how the movie related to the tale because the movie goes into a lot of depth into the life of the young girl and her family before she meets Bluebeard. Besides this, there are many other differences, though. In the Grimm's story, the young girl has three brothers who will do anything for her. In the movie, the young girl has one sister who she fights with a lot. In the Grimm version, the young girl hardly wants anything to do with Bluebeard and is frightened by him the minute she sees him. In the movie, the young girl is intrigued by him, builds a relationship with him, and isn't scared. In the Grimm's tale when the princess is about to die, she calls for her brothers help out the window 3 times.
